Scope
Structural steel grades (E250, E350, etc.) — most-used Indian structural steel spec.
Key requirements (7)
- Hot rolled medium and high tensile structural steel.
- Grades E165, E250 (most common — A/B/BR/C/D), E300, E350, E410, E450, E550, E600, E650.
- E250 BR: yield 250 MPa, weldable for general structural.
- Service temp: down to −20 °C for impact-tested grades (Cu/CR/D).
- Carbon equivalent (CE): controlled by grade for weldability.
- Charpy impact at 0 °C / −20 °C / −40 °C for D-class grades.
- Used widely in Indian structural, vessel, and tank fabrication.
